Official Game Idea

I've decided that I'd like to do a game about a local myth from where I grew up. Black Shuck is tale about a demon dog that terrorised east anglia I recall many occasions growing up hearing about the devil's dog. I'd like to translate the story into a game so that players can too be captivated by the myth.

A game that has inference should allow the player to understand more about the game through what is presented without being explicitly told. That is why I'd like to take inspiration from the myth of Black Shuck but also the 'Hound of the Baskervilles'. Even though the stories of shuck were told around the 1500s I'd like to portray with this book, partly because I prefer the aethetic of that era but also I like how the detective aspect plays a part. To this end the game could be considered a return of Shuck.

In the game you will play as a farmer tending to his land returning home from a long day. On your journey back to the farm house you will come across small clues that suggest something threatening is in the area. Once you reach the farm house it is on fire and the shuck makes an appearance chasing you through the land you just peacefully crossed. If the player succeed in fleeing then he will hide in a church while black shuck growls and scratches at the door, mirroring part of the myths surrounding him.
